How to Delete WINS Entry From an NT4
The Windows Internet Name Service database (WINS) provides system administrators with the management tools to add, select and delete address records that are maintained on Windows NT Servers. The records can be physically removed from the WINS server database or marked as extinct and immediately released from active use by the local client computer. This method, called tombstoning, allows a WINS record to remain present in the database for purposes of its replication to other servers. You need to mark the record as tombstoned in order to delete WINS database entry from Windows NT4 server.
