How to Assist Professional Organizers
According to the National Association of Professional Organizers, "Professional organizers use tested principles and expertise to enhance the lives of clients. By designing custom organizing systems and teaching organizing skills, they help individuals and businesses take control of their surroundings, their time, their paper piles, their lives!" The job of organizer's assistant is much more than clerical position. Unlike an administrative assistant, an organizer's assistant works closely to aid the organizer in providing structure for the clients.

Dress the part. Professional organizers help their clients by clearing away mess, increasing accessibility to things most important to them and creating organizational order within their work/home. It's important to reflect the idea behind the service you and/or your prospective boss represents. Although most professional organizers work in a casual setting, try to dress neat and stay well put together.

Learn your bosses morning routine. Although professional organizers help others stay organized, they most likely hired an assistant to delegate some of their duties and make more efficient use of their time. If your boss likes coffee and looking over the day's schedule at 8:00 AM sharp, try to arrive at least 15-30 minutes early to start a fresh brew of coffee and get the appointments ready or organized for the day.
