The MyTouch cell phone is a T-Mobile smart phone that runs the Android operating system. As of March 2011, it is available in the 3G Slide and 4G models. For this phone, you can download an fingerprint app that works by locking your phone and displaying a screen to scan your fingerprint to unlock the phone. With more than one of these apps available, they vary slightly in features. Some ask for just one fingerprint while others take more than one. The app is not actually a locking app. Instead each app is a novelty app that you can use to fool your friends or any thieves.

Press the power button on the front of your MyTouch cell phone to power it on or bring the screen back on from sleep mode. When you do this, your screen will have the fingerprint scanner app displayed on the screen.

Put your finger on the face on the phone to have your fingerprint scanned. You must press firmly and in the square box for the app to register the fingerprint on the screen. If you are using an app that requires more than one fingerprint, place those fingers on the screen as well.

Wait while the app "scans" and reads your fingerprint. With some of the apps, you will hear beeping sounds and feel a vibration as it processes the scan. This is just bells and whistles to fool anyone that is watching because with most of these apps, you can simply press the "Menu" button on the phone to clear the screen. These fingerprint apps are more a screensaver than an locking app. Usually you get the phone to "unlock" by waiting for a certain number of beeps.
