Microsoft Word is commonly used to write research papers and essays. With the addition of various Word templates, this program allows you to make greeting cards, labels, banners and more. Some Windows 7, Windows XP and Windows Vista computers come with Word that has templates you can use to create banners. Additional banner templates can be downloaded from the Microsoft Office website free of charge. There are multiple templates for various occasions. This program lets you customize your banners the way you want them with different fonts and colors.

Instructions

      Open Microsoft Word on your computer and click "File" and select "New" from the drop down menu.

      Click "Banners" from the left side of the menu box that pops up.

      Select the banner option that best suits your needs and preview it in the side panel.

      Click "Create" in the bottom right panel to open the banner template.

      Customize your banner with texts, colors, fonts and photos

      Click "File" and select "Save as" from the drop down menu. Save the file in a location where you can find it later with an easy to remember name such as "Birthday Banner".

Tips & Warnings

  • If your program does not already have the banner template you choose, it will automatically download it to your computer for you so be sure to connect to the internet
