How do I Put a Web Page on the Web for Free?
There are many services available online that allow you to create your own web page and put it on the Web for free. Before beginning, remember that hosting a web page on the Internet costs money and most services will place advertising on your web pages in order to keep the service running. As well, if you are using a free service, you are giving up some amount of control over the content you place on that site.

1
Decide what kind of web pages you will be making. Services like Wordpress, Blogger and Posterous are good for blogs. For sharing a lot of photographs, Flikr or Photobucket may be better. Services like Google Sites allow you to customize your website's appearance and use different widgets for a variety of purposes.

Go to a search engine to find additional free services that may be available in your niche. In the search field, type a word or two of a topic you are interested in with the words "free website" in quotation marks (e.g: dogs "free website"). Scan the results to identify free website services dedicated to your niche. Understand that some smaller services may not be as reliable, or as easy to use, as the larger ones.

3
Select two or three free website services and look at examples of what others have done. These are usually found by clicking on a "Tour" link, or "See examples," on the service's home page. Compare the different pages and look for patterns. If they all use the same format, or all have banners and pop-ups ads, yours probably will too.

4
Decide on the free website service you like the most. Click on the "Sign Up" or "Get Started" link. Enter your name and email address. If they ask for credit card or banking information, it is most likely not a free service.
-
5
Read the the terms and conditions carefully before agreeing. Some websites may take ownership of any content you create on their service. Pay close attention for words like "Free Trial," which indicate the service is free for a limited time only.
-
6
Begin making your web page. Use the "Help" link and browse the "FAQ" page if you are uncertain how to begin. Most of the major free services, including those listed in Step 1, have tutorials to help beginners get started. You should be able to get started on your web page within minutes of signing up.
