How to Make Cream From Olive Oil

Olive oil works well in cooking and it also makes an effective skin and hair moisturizer. You can use olive oil on its own but because it's a liquid, it can run and stain. Liquid oils may also not absorb as easily and leave your skin feeling greasy or slippery. A cream is thicker, absorbs better and is less likely to run into your eyes.   • 1 1/4 C extra virgin olive oil
  • Thick-bottomed pot
  • 2 Tbsp. grated beeswax
  • Stick blender
  • Rubber spatula
  • 4 8-oz jars

Instructions

      Pour the olive oil into the pot. Heat on medium until the oil is hot and reduce the heat to low. Do not boil the oil or allow the oil to smoke.

      Stir the grated beeswax into the hot oil until it melts. Turn off the heat and remove the boiler from the burner.

      Use the stick blender to mix the olive oil as it cools. The oil should thicken into a cream.
