How to Use Ball Link Pliers

Ball link pliers look similar to needle-nose pliers, with a pointed end that is used to grab hold of things. However, the ball link pliers' ends are forked. Ball link pliers are generally used by hobbyists to remove plastic links from a ball joint. One of the ball link pliers' ends is forked deeper than the other end to assist in the removal and replacement of the object from the ball joint.

Instructions

    • 1

Hold the ball link pliers' handles in the open position. Insert the large indentation over the ball joint; behind the plastic link being removed.

    • 2

Close the handles so that the small indentation rests on the front of the ball joint. Squeeze the handles until the plastic link pops off the end of the ball joint.

    • 3

Replace the plastic link by opening the ball link pliers. Position the small indentation over the ball joint. Place the hole at the end of the plastic link, in front of the ball joint.

    • 4

Close the ball joint pliers so that the large indentation is resting on the plastic link's front surface. Squeeze the pliers' handles to push the plastic link onto the ball joint.
