Love is great, but for anyone with a Facebook page, getting the likes is what social media is all about. Facebook makes it easy to invite friends to like any Page that you've found as well as to your own Page. If you've created an Event Page, you can invite your friends to that, too, with just a few hundred clicks.
Inviting Friends to Like Any Page
To invite friends to a page that you like but don't own or manage, just go to that page and click the Invite Friends to Like This Page link. In the list that opens, click the Invite button beside each friend's name. The invitations are sent immediately.
Invite Friends to Like Your Own Page
To invite friends to like your own page, go to that Page and click the Create Call to Action button. A list of likely friends appears below the cover photo with Invite buttons beside each name. To see more names, click the See More Friends link beneath the shortlist.
Invite Friends to an Event
Create an event by going to your Facebook Upcoming Events page and clicking the Create an Event button.
After entering the details, such as the event title, location and a description, click Create. This takes you to your Event Page, where you can click the Invite button. A new window opens with a list of all of your friends. Select each name and click Invite to send off the fresh invitations.
Facebook Invitation Etiquette
While Facebook doesn't specify any limits when it comes to inviting friends to like a page or an event, some users have reported that they are unable to invite more than 500 friends in one day. If you have several hundred friends, consider inviting them in daily batches of 100 or 200 friends. When you do anything in excess on Facebook, you always run the risk of being temporarily blocked from a feature.
If You Build It... Don't expect every single one of your friends to immediately flock to a Page after you send an invitation. Casual users of Facebook may not see the invitation. Even if they do, they may not have a pressing desire to respond right away.
While you may want to send a personal message to one or two hold-outs to find out why they didn't respond, it's not advisable to harass anyone. If someone finds you're being too pushy, there's nothing to stop them from reporting you -- anonymously -- for spam. If you want people to flock to your page, post great content on it. You can then share this content on your own timeline, reminding your friends that you're trying to get more likes.
