Guavas have dozens of seeds.

Guavas range from quite sweet to slightly acidic in flavor. The skin, meat and seeds are all edible. The skin tends to be a bit bitter and though they can be eaten like an apple, peel guavas before consumption. Guavas also have dozens of small seeds to remove if it will be used as a component of another dish. Remove the seed when using guavas in cobblers, salads, smoothies, sorbets or jams.   • Cutting board
  • Sharp Knife
  • Teaspoon
  • Sieve

Instructions

      Place the guava on a cutting board. Using a sharp knife cut it in half crosswise.

      Place a teaspoon into half of the guava between the soft center, filled with seeds, and the firmer flesh of the fruit. Push firmly against the outer flesh and move the teaspoon around the inner section to separate the inner seeds.

      Scoop the seeds and the inner pulp out of the fruit and dispose of them. If you want to use the inner flesh, run this portion of the fruit through a sieve to remove the seeds.
