Instructions

    • 1

Clean the couch or sofa by removing the cushions and checking for toys, change and debris. Vacuum the couch thoroughly under the cushions, then use the vacuum to clean the couch or sofa upholstery. Put the cushions back on the sofa or couch.

    • 2

Take two of the fitted sheet's elasticized corners, one from each end of the sheet's length. Hook one of the corners over each end of the top of the couch, allowing the sheet to come over the front of the couch, down toward the cushions. Allow the back of the couch to remain uncovered.

    • 3

Press some of the fabric down into the crack between the cushions and back of the couch. Use the rest of the fabric to cover the cushion upholstery, then to drape down over the front of the couch, hanging to the floor or just above it for a dust ruffle look. Press any remaining fabric further down into the crack between the cushions and the back of the sofa to ensure the sheet is securely in place.

    • 4

Thread the needle with a color that blends with the sheet covering the upholstery. Use an upholstery needle, which is a larger needle meant for sewing through thicker fabrics. Small needles will not work on upholstery. Make a few stitches on each of the top corners where the sheet hooks over the couch to keep it in place. Make a few stitches on the back of the couch right above each cushion, also to help keep the sheet in place.

    • 5

Toss a matching decorative flat king sheet over the couch or sofa upholstery as you would a couch throw. Stitch into place if desired, or allow the flat cover sheet to remain loose so it can be washed.

Tips & Warnings

  • It is best not to use a sheet that has a lined pattern as it will be more noticeable if crooked.
