How to Disable a Proxy Server in Firefox

Proxies offer you anonymity when browsing online Websites. They do this by tricking the Website into thinking your Internet Protocol, or IP, address is that of the proxy server, which can be located on the other side of the world. The downside to proxies is they usually slow down your browsing experience, because information has to travel through the proxy, rather than directly between your computer and the Website. If you do not care if Websites know you IP address, you can opt to disable proxies in Firefox.
