Personalize a store bought candy bar with a homemade wrapper.

Candy seems to be a safe choice when it comes to handing out party favors, prizes or small gifts since most people enjoy a sweet treat. While you can hand out store bought candy bars, using your own customized wrappers gives your treats a special touch. You can keep your design simple and just use colored wrappers to match the theme of your event or take it a step further and add pictures or text to your personalized candy bars.

Instructions

    • 1

Measure the length of a wrapped candy bar with a measuring tape and reduce the measurement slightly so that the edges of the candy bar will show when you apply your homemade wrapper. For example, if the candy bar is 6 inches long, make the template approximately 5 1/2 inches long. You can use any type of candy bar but the flat ones will work best.

    • 2

Wrap the measuring tape around the candy bar to determine its width and add approximately 1 inch to this measurement. This will allow you to overlap the wrapper slightly on the back of the candy bar to help secure it in place.

    • 3

Cut a rectangle of card stock using the measurements from step one and step two. This is the template for your homemade candy bar wrappers.

    • 4

Trace the piece of card stock onto sheets of construction paper and cut them out to create your candy bar wrappers.

    • 5

Decorate your homemade wrappers with drawings, ribbons, stickers or other embellishments.

    • 6

Wrap your homemade wrapper around the candy bar's original wrapper and secure it with a piece of clear tape.

Tips & Warnings

  • If the candy bar has a paper wrapper and a foil wrapper, remove the paper wrapper and use it as a template for your personalized wrappers.
