Instructions

    • 1

Cut a cucumber into a few thin slices. Place these slices in the freezer for about ten minutes. Then, arrange them under your eyes or even over your closed eyes. Relax for 10 to 15 minutes. As an alternative, you can use store-bought cucumber pads, which promise the same effect as a fresh cucumber.

Use ice wrapped in a paper towel, or cotton pads drenched in water and kept in the freezer for about 20 minutes -- to help reduce black circles and diminish under eye puffiness.

    • 3

Apply an under-eye cream or treatment, especially one which contains Retinol and vitamin K. These treatments help reduce the appearance of black circles, which may be a sign of vitamin deficiency. Some under-eye treatments also contain caffeine, to help stimulate circulation and revive skin.

    • 4

Take a multivitamin or supplement daily, especially in times of great stress, or if you have vitamin deficiency. A lack of vitamins creates trouble for your skin, and visible black under-eye circles are a part of this trouble.

    • 5

Drink lots of water and hydrate your skin with a moisturizer. Dehydration, present even if you intake more alcohol or salt than you take-in water, slows down circulation and causes the skin under the eyes to look puffy, blue or black. Drink eight glasses of water or more, daily and reduce alcohol.

    • 6

Get a good night's sleep each night. Sleep deprivation and stress cause black circles also. Sleep at least 6 -- preferably 7 to 8 hours -- each night. Calm down by meditating, exercising and relaxing at home.

    • 7

Use sunscreen under your eyes as well. This skin is extra-delicate, and needs proper protection. Wear sunglasses when going out, to reduce squinting which creates crow's feet under eyes.

    • 8

Cover dark circles using foundation or concealer in a yellow tone. Dab some concealer near the inner corner of your eyes and below your lower lash line. Use your ring finger, which delicate and ideally shaped for this task, to dab the concealer gently, smudging it together to make it look invisible. This will open up your eyes and give you a fresh, wide-awake look.
