How to Re-tighten Sisterlocks With Your Fingers
Sisterlocks are a great low-maintenance solution for someone that doesn't have a whole lot of time, energy or desire to dedicate to the daily upkeep of trendy hairstyles, but still want to look great at the same time. Although it is very low maintenance hairstyle, it's not no-maintenance and you will want to make a trip to the salon at least every three months to have your sisterlocks re-tightened to ensure that they remain healthy, neat and professionally kept. Section the hair into four even sections and secure three of the sections with a hair clip. Separating the sections in this manner will ensure that you don't lose your place and each lock is re-tightened.

Take one sisterlock and loop it through the locking tool. Hold it out straight and separate 1/4 of the new growth (hair closest to the scalp that is not locked). Pull the locking tool through that section of the hair.

Split another fourth of the new growth and pull the locking tool through that section just as you did the first section. Complete two additional times until all the new growth is twisted from the scalp.

Repeat the above steps on each sisterlock, until your entire head of new-growth is tightened and twisted into each lock of hair.
