Instructions

-
1
Empty out the closet completely. Remove existing shelving and the hanging bar.
-
2
Measure the length and width of the closet and the shelves. Use a level to ensure that the walls and ceiling are even. Use a pencil to mark the intended location of the shelves.
-
-
3
Hang the horizontal track as close to the ceiling as possible. Most walls have a 2 by 4 running directly against the ceiling. Drill the screws directly into the 2 by 4, if possible. If not, drill into studs for the strongest installation. Use toggle bolts for drywall.
-
4
Mount the vertical tracks onto the horizontal track. The vertical tracks are fully adjustable. Screw into studs when possible.
-
5
Attach shelf brackets. Slide them into the slots located on the ends of the shelves.
-
6
Adjust the width of the shelves with a bolt cutter or hacksaw.
-
7
Cap the wire ends of the shelves with the included ClosetMaid caps.
