How to Manually Uninstall Spyware Protect 2009

Many rogue anti-spyware programs are designed to procure your financial information.

Spyware Protect 2009 is a rogue anti-spyware program that infects your computer through malicious websites and fake video codecs. Once the program has infected your computer, it launches pop-ups alerting you that your computer is filled with spyware and that you must purchase Spyware Protect 2009 in order to remove the spyware. In addition, Spyware Protect may disable your legitimate anti-spyware program. Fortunately, you can remove Spyware Protect 2009 manually, without the aid of an anti-spyware program.

Instructions

End Processes

1. Press "Ctrl," "Shift" and "Escape" simultaneously to open the Processes tab of the Windows Task Manager.

2. End each of the following processes. To end a process, right-click on the task and select "End Process."

   sysguard.exe

   SYSTEMROOT\sysguard.exe

   sysguardn.exe

   SpywareProtect2009.exe

3. Close the Windows Task Manager by clicking the "X" in the top right corner.

Delete Registry Entries

1. Click "Start," type "regedit" into the search field and press "Enter" to open the Windows Registry Editor.

2. Right-click "HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Spyware Protect 2009" in the left pane of the Windows Registry Editor and select "Delete."

3. Close the Windows Registry Editor by clicking the "X" in the top right corner.

Delete Files

1. Click "Start" and click on the "Search Programs and Files" box.

2. Search for and delete each of the following files. To delete a file, right-click on the file as it appears in the results list and select "Delete."

   sysguard.exe

   sysguardn.exe

   Uninstall Spyware Protect 2009.lnk

   Spyware Protect 2009.lnk

   SpywareProtect2009.exe

   SYSTEMROOT\sysguard.exe

3. Restart your computer.
