How Make Word Templates
Designing a Word template expedites future document creation. Creating a template requires no extra formatting or document-creation knowledge. The only extra step required for making a Word template lies in the saving process. Instead of saving the template as a normal document, which is Word's default setting, you must specify the template format in the "Save as type" field. The file saves to your templates folder for future access.

Tips & Warnings
Insert placeholder text in a document to expedite filling in fields for future use. For instance, if you want the template to include a name and date section, Type "Name" and "Date" where you want that information placed.
