Breaking goals into smaller steps will help you feel accomplished.

Life is full of goals that everyone wants to achieve. Career goals, family goals and fitness goals are some of the goals we set in life. Setting goals can seem daunting at first, but once you design a plan that works for you, you can achieve your goals day by day. The key is to organize daily, weekly and monthly goals and take each goal one step at a time. By breaking your large, life goals into smaller steps, you can build a sense of accomplishment as you finish one goal at a time.

Instructions

    • 1

Buy a planner that has pages for daily goals, weekly goals and monthly goals. Write your main goals on a separate piece of paper. Divide these goals into categories such as financial, career, education, family, fitness or attitude. Create specific parameters for your goals. Plan what you will achieve at certain points in the next 10 or 15 years.

Take each category's goal and break it down into smaller steps. Determine whether each smaller goal is a daily, weekly or monthly goal. Break down monthly goals into weekly goals and weekly goals into daily goals.

    • 3

Write down things that need to happen at each six-month or year mark for the duration of your goal. Post these objectives somewhere you will see them and be reminded of them every day, like on the fridge or near your desk at home.

Review your goals periodically to make sure you are on track. Make adjustments to timed goals if you are feeling overwhelmed.
