How to Edit Saved Directions on Google Maps

With a free Google account, you can create and save maps using the My Maps feature. To save driving directions, create the map, click the "Save to My Maps" link in the left pane at the bottom of the driving directions, and choose a name for the map. If you need to manually change the directions, edit the map and the text driving directions will automatically change to the new route.

Tips & Warnings

  • It may be easier to create a new route, save it to the existing map, and then delete the old route.

  • Editing directions on a saved map doesn't have the "Remove" link to clear unwanted changes.
