How to Fill Vector Lighters
Vector is a manufacturer of butane lighters that throw a hot, blue flame from the tip. Similar to a torch, the Vector flame allows users to visually pinpoint an area where the flame should hit, such as a cigar. To make its flame, Vector lighters need butane as fuel. To fix this issue, you need to fill the Vector lighter using a special canister sold by Vector. After you fill the lighter with butane, it will work as normal.

1
Turn over the lighter to reveal the flame adjuster and refill valve on the bottom of the case. Push down the refill valve, which--depending on the model--is either in the center of the flame adjuster or to the right of the case screw in the center of the base. Use the flat-head screwdriver if you can't depress the refill valve with your hands. Depress the valve until the hissing sound stops.

2
Turn the flame adjuster towards the (-) symbol stamped on the bottom of the lighter, using the flat-head screwdriver to lower the flame to its lowest setting.

Hold the Vector lighter in one hand with the refill valve pointed up. Hold the refill canister with the nozzle pointing down as well. Insert the nozzle on the refill canister into the refill valve, using your fingers. Push down the nozzle on the refill canister firmly for 15 to 20 seconds. Remove the refill canister.
