How to Troubleshoot Bissell Proheat 2X 9200s
The Bissell ProHeat 2X 9200 is a carpet and upholstery cleaner designed for home use. The ProHeat features a spray trigger, flexible hose and long power cord, heater indicator light, 2-in-1 cleaning and water tank, and edge brushes for cleaning along corners, walls and doors. The ProHeat 2X is available for purchase online or in many home retail or appliance stores. Connect the ProHeat 2X to a working power supply if the cleaner is not working. Turn the main power switch to "On" and make sure the heater switch is also turned "On" if the cleaning solution is not warm.

Fill the water tank with clean water to the "Fill" mark and refill the cleaning solution if there is not much cleaning solution coming out of the unit when you press the spray trigger. Turn off the ProHeat and wait one minute before restoring power and pressing the spray trigger until cleaning spray dispenses easily.

Turn off and unplug the carpet cleaner if the brushes are not turning during use. Lower the handle and flip the ProHeat over. Check the brush roll for foreign objects that may be preventing the brush roll from turning and cut away any strings with a pair of scissors. Use a flat head screwdriver to open the belt access door on the base of the ProHeat and look at the belt. Remove and replace the belt if the old one is damaged or broken.

Remove the water and formula tank and replace on the base unit, locking the handle by pushing it back until the tank locks into position, if there is no suction. Check the nozzle and hose for blockages and make sure there is water and cleaning formula in the tank before use.

Turn the ProHeat off and wait for the red float door on the tank to move back into the open position if there is poor suction.

Wow! What a waste of money. I haven't used it that much and the water won't heat up. Also the attachment hose will not spray. I tried calling the help line, but I had trouble understanding the operator.

Although, I cleaned my bissel pro heat after each use, I noticed a large amount of buildup, not only from the cleaning solution but from dog hair it removed while I was cleaning my carpet, this was excess dog hair that my vacumm did not pickup. After reading the detailed instructions above, I took my pro heat 2x apart and with extremely warm water and a wash clothe wiped down the parts that house the brushes removing the buildup of cleaning solution from the brushes and the parts that house the brushes. I then cleaned the unit that holds the warm tap water, along with the filters on the solution bottle, and the bottle as well. I left all the parts in my sink to dry overnigt and put the unit back together this morning. It worked like a new unit. Be sure to thourghly rinse after each use to keep build up from forming.
