How to Install New DVD Drives on a PC
Most desktop computers are designed with expandability in mind. This includes upgrading certain internal components, such as the optical drive. Some older computers were originally equipped with a CD-ROM drive or CD burner and have no DVD playback capabilities. Installing a new DVD drive into a desktop computer gives the PC the capability to view DVDs as well as use software and other types of information located on DVD media, such as a DVD-ROM and DVD-R.
