The walls of your home can get grimy from dust, dirt, nicotine and fingerprints over time, and that can detract from the nice look of your home. Cleaning your walls periodically just makes sense. Vinegar is a natural and powerful cleaner that deodorizes, kills mildew and doesn't emit any harsh fumes.
Things You'll Need
- White vinegar
- Fan -- optional
Fill a bucket with warm water, and add 1 gallon of warm water.
Dip a cloth in the solution, and wring it out. Clean the walls, starting at the top and working your way down. Rinse the cloth in the bucket as needed. When the solution gets dirty, empty the bucket, and mix more vinegar water.
Empty the bucket, and rinse it with clean water. Fill the bucket with 1 gallon of warm water.
Dip a clean cloth into the water, and wring it out. Wipe the walls, starting at the top and working your way down to rinse away all cleaning residue.
Set up a fan or open windows to speed drying. The vinegar smell dissipates as the walls dry.
Tips & Warnings
- Add three or four drops of essential oil such as lemon, mint or lavender to the vinegar solution for a more pleasant smell.
