How to Know When a Guy Likes You in Middle School

Watch a boy to see where he is looking, which may indicate his interest.

Middle school can be a confusing time for many kids since there are so many changes going on physically, mentally, emotionally and socially. One area that can be particularly perplexing is the realm of romantic relationships. You may wonder if a certain guy likes you, but you aren't quite sure. Boys in middle school usually are just beginning to be interested in girls, and expressing their interest can be very awkward for them at first. There are some clues that you can watch for in order to figure out if a boy is interested in you or not.

Instructions

1. Watch the guy (discreetly if you can) to see if he is looking at you. Long stares or frequent, stolen glances can be indicators of romantic interest.

2. Pay attention to which guys are talking to you, even if awkwardly. Some guys may be too shy to talk to you even if they like you, but other guys often will make some sort of attempt. He might not come out and say that he likes you, but if he tries to talk to you often or if he teases you in a good-natured way, he may be flirting.

3. Ask a friend to try to gather some information. Your friend could come right and ask the guy if he likes you, or your friend could casually bring up a conversation about pretty girls or dating and see what the guy says.

4. Watch his body language. If he seems to like to hug you or even merely pat your shoulder or touch your hand or arm briefly, he may be interested in you.

5. Pay attention to other forms of communication. If a guy is calling, texting or sending you online messages (even if they seem platonic), he probably is interested in you.
