If you have a child who enjoys camping and watching the night sky or is just a fan of gazing at the stars, you can bring that pleasure indoors. 1
Paint the walls a dark color to match the night sky. You can choose a shade of navy blue instead of black to give it a slightly lighter color scheme.
-
2
Replace the bed with a space shuttle bed or keep the current bed and get sheets showing stars and moons or planets.
-
-
3
Place glow-in-the-dark stars and planets on the walls and ceiling. You can also paint the planets and stars instead. Purchase glow-in-the-dark paint from your local art shop if you want the stars to glow when the lights are off. You may be able to find some peel and stick adhesives at your local home décor store instead of having to paint.
-
4
Hang a mobile model of the solar system from the ceiling. You can even hang a small space shuttle or UFO.
-
5
Use dark wood furniture so you can put stars on it as well. If you are using the glow-in-the-dark stars or paint, this means your kid will be able to see the stars everywhere when he goes to sleep.
-
6
Add some space-related trinkets to decorate shelves and furniture as well. You can have artwork and toys that include spaceships, aliens, constellations and even poster depicting the phases of the moon.
