Remove the screws on the metal strip at the back of the Mustang's interior that connects the back of the convertible top to the interior.

Unscrew the tension cables from the top bow frame of the Mustang. Pull the cables away from the top bow and place them to one side.

Use a flat-head screwdriver to remove the staples at the front of the convertible top which connect it to the frame. Carefully lift the top away from the Mustang.

    • 5

Lift the new convertible top on to the frame of the Mustang. Apply a layer of contact adhesive to either side of the top bow side covers. Press the side covers together in order to secure the top on to the top bow frame. Leave the Mustang for 20 minutes to allow the adhesive to set in place.

Use a staple gun to reattach the staples to the front of the convertible top in the same places from which you removed the old ones. This will secure the front front of the top to the frame.
