Instructions

    • 1

Plan out the letter. Write down, in point form, the things you want to put in the letter. Make sure to expand on why you are thanking her and why you have chosen to put it in a letter.

    • 2

Write a draft of the letter on scrap paper. Take your time. Write clearly and sincerely. In addition to thanking your girlfriend, you may also want to mention other personable attributes that you enjoy and admire. Use a photo of your girlfriend to inspire your thoughts and words.

    • 3

Take a break after you have completed the draft to give yourself time to reflect on what you wrote.

    • 4

Re-read your draft. Make sure that your letter is written in an appropriately romantic and personal tone.

    • 5

Write a final copy of the letter on good quality stationery using the draft for guidance. Make sure to sign the letter using appropriate terminology such as, "Love," or "With Warmest Regards" depending on the intensity level of your relationship.

    • 6

Fold the letter and place it in a envelope with her name on the outside.

    • 7

Leave the letter in a place where she will see it.
