How to Remove The Windshield Wiper Blades From a 2004 Chevrolet Cavalier
There are two main reasons to remove a 2004 Chevrolet Cavalier's windshield wiper blades. If they have not been changed over a long period of time, they will have grown dull and frayed. As a result, they may not effectively clean off the Cavalier's windshield. The old blades will need to be removed before they can be replaced. Also, if you are working on other components in the Chevy's wiper blade system, like the arms, the motor or wiper transmission, removing the blades may be an optional first step.
Instructions

1
Move the 2004 Chevy Cavalier's driver's side wiper into an upright position. It should lock into place, and the wiper arm's spring should not try to snap it back to the windshield.
-
2
Move the wiper blade's frame so that it forms a letter "T" with Chevy Cavalier's wiper arm.
-
-
3
Locate and undo the securing mechanism clasp at the center of the wiper blade's frame. The orientation and function of this clasp may differ by blade manufacturer, but the dynamic is similar. The clasp should "click" once as you open it.
-
4
Hold the 2004 Chevrolet Cavalier's wiper arm with your left hand. With your right hand, pull the wiper blade off the arm. The wiper arm ends in a hook, and the blade should come directly out of this hook with one firm pull.
-
5
Place a sponge on the 2004 Cavalier's windshield. Lower the bare wiper arm onto the sponge. Repeat each of these steps on the remaining passenger's side blade.
