Comcast Cable Remote Instructions

There are a number of Comcast Cable remote controls, and each is designed to work with a specific model receiver. Most of these also operate as universal remotes, which can be programmed to operate other external pieces of your entertainment center, like a television, digital video recorder or DVD player.

Instructions

Basic Use

1. Press the "Aux," "TV," or "Cable" button to select and control a device.

2. Press the "Power" button to turn the selected device on or off.

3. Press the "All On" button to turn all the programmed devices on.

4. Press the "Vol +/-" button to increase or decrease the volume of the selected device.

5. Press the "Chan +/-" button to scroll through the channels.

Programming Remote to Work With Your TV

1. Press the "Power" button on the television to turn it on.

2. Press and hold the "Set" button on the remote until the red indicator light turns on; then release the button.

3. Enter "991" on the remote. The red light will blink twice.

4. Point the remote at the television -- press and release the "CH +" button until the television turns on.

5. Press the "Set" button once. The red light will blink once.
