How to Use Picture-in-Picture on an HDTV

HDTVs are made with varying features and functions. One of the more common functions in many HDTVs is the Picture-in-Picture (PIP) function, which allows you to watch two channel programs on the television screen at the same time. While the HDTV is in PIP mode, you can also choose between the two different programs and make one appear in the larger window of the television screen and the other appear in the smaller PIP window in a corner of the larger display. The process of using picture-in-picture on an HDTV is fairly straightforward.

Instructions

    • 1

Press the "Power" button on the HDTV remote to turn it on.

    • 2

Press the "Up/Down Chan" button to navigate to a desired channel and then press the "PIP" button on the remote. A small PIP window will appear on the television screen with the default channel programming showing on it. The default channel that appears in the PIP window varies with the HDTV manufacturer.

    • 3

Press the "Up/Down Chan" button to change the main screen channel and then press the "PIP" button to swap the programming positions. The program from the larger screen will swap to the smaller screen.
