How to Convert Audiobooks

Audiobook files on your computer are usually in a format that can be played only with the device or software with which you got the audiobook. If you want to listen to your audiobook using other programs and devices, you'll need a more generalized format, such as MP3. You can convert audiobooks into a more compatible format by using some free tools available online.

It costs $19.95 as of 2011 to record more than that, but the quality will be quite good. Select "64 KBPS and "Eliminate silence" from the Settings menu in the program.
