How do I Create a Template With Excel?

Templates can save you considerable time when you have to create several similar Excel worksheets. Templates are like any other spreadsheet, except they are saved in a special format that allows you to create new document based on their formatting. These new Excel documents will have your desired formatting and data, so you're free to enter your new information or formulas without recreating previous work.

Instructions

    • 1

      Open Microsoft Excel.

    • 5

Enter a name for your template into the "File name" field, but keep the default location as it is.

    • 6

Click "Save" to save your template. From now on, you can click the "Office" button, select "New" and choose your template under the "My Templates" category in the left pane of the "New Workbook" window.
