How to Select Multiple Photos in Windows Vista

Select multiple photos in Windows Vista to move them all at once instead of one at a time. Moving files into a separate folder or onto an external storage device one at a time is a time-consuming task. Selecting multiple photos lets you drag or copy and paste the photos into another area -- the files will transfer over, and you can busy yourself with something else in the meantime.

Instructions

Select All Photos

1. Open a folder on Windows Vista that contains photos.

2. Click an empty area in the folder.

3. Press the "Ctrl" and "A" keys on the keyboard at the same time to select all of the photos.

Select Specific Photos

1. Open the folder in Windows Vista containing the photos you want to select.

2. Hold down the "Ctrl" key.

3. Click the specific photos you want to select.

Select a Section

1. Open the folder containing the photos you want to select in Windows Vista.

2. Hold down the "Shift" key and click the first folder the in the section of photos you want to select.

3. Click the last photo in the section of photos you want to select to select all of the photos in between the first photo you select and the last photo you selected.

Tips & Warnings

• After you select your photos, click one of the highlighted photos, and then drag the photos to the new area. Alternatively, right-click one of the highlighted photos for other options.
