How do I Load a CD Onto an iPod?
Music has never been so portable as it is with MP3 players such as the iPod. If your CD collection is feeling a little neglected as a result, you can import the songs from your CDs onto your computer using iTunes. From there, you can use iTunes to transfer the music to your iPod. The entire transfer process takes only a few minutes. Soon you'll be able to take your CDs with you wherever you go -- in a manner of speaking.

1
Insert your CD into your CD/DVD drive. If the CD begins to play automatically, stop playback.
-
2
Launch iTunes (if it was not launched automatically when the CD was inserted). Press the "Import CD" button in the bottom right corner of the screen. iTunes rips the tracks from the CD to its music library. Once a song has finished importing, a green check-mark will appear alongside the title. After all the songs have been fully imported, continue to Step 3.

Plug your iPod into your computer using the included data interface cable. Once iTunes detects your iPod, a new listing for the iPod appears under the "Devices" menu in the left sidebar. Select the iPod listing. Open the "File" menu and click "Sync iPod." The new songs in your library will be added to your iPod.
