SKS Banana Clip Installation

SKS rifles are surplus Russian army rifles that are popular among American shooters for being reliable and relatively inexpensive. The SKS was the predecessor of the AR-47 rifle and uses the same 7.62x39mm ammunition. The rifle was built with a semi-permanent 10-round magazine. Fortunately, the magazine was designed to be quickly removed for the purpose of cleaning the weapon. Using this feature, detachable high-capacity magazines, also referred to as "banana clips," have been designed that quickly replace the original magazine.

Instructions

1. Open the rifle's bolt and make sure that the weapon is unloaded.

2. Use the magazine release tab that protrudes from the stock, just in front of the trigger assembly, to release the magazine. Remove the magazine by swinging it forward.

3. Insert the front of the detachable magazine (the magazine is designed to mimic the original one) into the front of the stock and swing the magazine into place. You'll hear a click when the magazine locks in place.
