How do I Secure a Belkin Wireless G Router?
The Belkin Wireless G Router allows you to create a wireless network in your home for multiple devices including computers, laptops and portable wireless devices. To protect your network and prevent unwanted users, the router contains security protocols for setting a password. The security encryption, as well as many other router options, is included in the router's setup menu. The setup menu is accessible from any Web browser on a computer connected to the router.

Connect your computer to the Belkin router using an Ethernet cable or wireless connection.

Open a Web browser. Enter "192.168.2.1" as the address to open the router login screen.

Click "Login" in the upper-right corner. Enter your password if you have set it, otherwise leave the password field blank. Click "Submit."

Open the "Wireless" tab. Open the "Encryption" tab and the "Security" tab.

Access the dropdown menu and select "128-bit WEP."

Type in a passphrase and click "Generate" to create the encrypted key. Write down the passphrase and encrypted key for future reference.

Click "Apply Changes" to save the settings.
