When an application is installed, it also creates files in the operating system's registry, adware files and file dependencies. When uninstalled, these files can remain and clutter your hard drive. Other applications are unable to be uninstalled using normal procedures like the Windows Add/Remove Program tool. Limewire installs with adware and leaves a number of files on the hard drive when uninstalled. Uninstallation applications are available for free online. These applications remove the application as well as any files directly related to the application.

Download and install an uninstall application such as Perfect Uninstaller or Absolute Uninstaller. (See Resources.)

Open the application and locate Limewire in the list of installed applications.
