How to Insert a YouTube Video in Yahoo! Chat thumbnail
With Yahoo! Messenger 9.0, you can watch YouTube videos in the chat window.

Until recently, Yahoo! Messenger users couldn't watch YouTube videos shared in chat without clicking on a link to the site. With the release of Yahoo! Messenger 9.0, however, you can watch shared videos without having to close the chat window. This version of the instant messaging program enables chatters to view YouTube videos in the chat window. That means you can talk about your favorite bits and share special moments with friends in real time without having to switch between browser windows.

    • 2

Download and install the Zync plug-in from the Yahoo! Messenger Plug-ins page (see Resources). This plug-in isn't required to watch YouTube videos in Yahoo! Chat, but it does enable you to watch videos in sync with your friends.

Find the YouTube video you want to insert into the chat. Copy the link by highlighting the URL address at the top of the browser, right-clicking, and then selecting "Copy." Then paste the URL into the Yahoo! Chat window by right-clicking and selecting "Paste."
