How to Block a Website in Macintosh

In Macintosh OS X, you can block specific websites by enabling parental controls on an account. Only an administrator account can enable parental controls, and an account with parental controls on it cannot be an administrator for the computer. The parental controls work on every Internet browser, so the user cannot avoid the block by using a different browser. The content filter setting that allows you to block specific websites can also automatically block all websites with inappropriate content.
