How to Get Pictures Off of Your BlackBerry

By Editorial Team

Updated July 21, 2017

Your BlackBerry smartphone has photo and video capturing capabilities. In most cases, the photos and video taken with your BlackBerry have a high enough resolution that the need for a separate digital camera is negated. Transferring the photos from your BlackBerry to your computer is just as simple as transferring them from your digital camera to your computer.

Transfer Using USB Connection

Plug your BlackBerry phone into your computer using the device's USB cable.

Select the "USB" option from the list of choices on your BlackBerry.

Enter your BlackBerry's password if prompted to do so.

Locate your BlackBerry's drive on your computer. It should be labeled either "BlackBerry" or "Removable Disk" drive.

Locate your pictures in the BlackBerry's folder, select the photos and drag and drop them into the desired folder on your computer.

Transfer Using BlackBerry Desktop Software

Update your BlackBerry Desktop Software on your computer to the latest version. You can do so by going to BlackBerry.com and clicking the "Downloads" section.

Connect your BlackBerry to your computer via USB cable.

Select the "Media Transfer" option from your BlackBerry.

Open your BlackBerry Desktop Software on your computer.

Select the photo media transfer option to have the software transfer your pictures from your BlackBerry to your computer.

Warnings

Make sure your pictures are saved on your computer before doing any deleting off your BlackBerry.
