Instructions

    • 1

Wet your hair thoroughly and squeeze out the excess water with your hands. Do not towel dry your hair.

    • 2

Place a tube of hot oil treatment into a pot of water and heat the pot until the water begins to boil. Remove the pot from the heat.

    • 3

Apply 1 tbsp. of the hot oil hair treatment onto each of the knots and rub the oil in for 2 to 3 minutes. Cover your hair with a shower cap and allow the oil to absorb into the knots for 20 minutes.

    • 4

Hold a knot in your hand and comb the hair underneath the knot using a detangling comb. Pull the hair gently with the comb, moving away from the knot as you comb. This will free the hairs under the knot to make it easier for the tangles to loosen.

    • 5

Insert the comb into the bottom of the knot near the area you already combed and pull the comb downward. When the comb becomes caught in the tangled hair again, stop pulling. Repeat this process until the section at the bottom of the knot has been detangled.

    • 6

Place the comb into the middle of the knot above the hair you have already combed and pull the comb downward, as before. As you pull, the comb may become caught in the tangled hair, as before. When this happens, stop pulling the comb. Continue combing out the middle of the knot in this manner until it is no longer tangled.

    • 7

Repeat this process by combing out the top of the knot as you did with the middle and bottom of the knot. Continue combing in this manner until the knot is completely free of tangles.

    • 8

Repeat the entire process on all of the knots in your hair.

    • 9

Wash your hair thoroughly using a moisturizing shampoo and following with a hydrating conditioner. Allow the conditioner to sit on your hair for two to three minutes, then rinse the conditioner out well.
