How to Write a Christian Thank You Note

How to Write a Christian Thank You Note thumbnail
Christian gratitude begins with God and extends to others.

People often say 'thank you' out of habit, without thinking about what it means. True gratitude expressed from the heart, however, has a profound effect on the person thanking and the person thanked. It has been shown to preserve marriages, strengthen social relationships, improve personal well-being and makes people more likely to help again. Saying 'thank you' in a Christian manner can also help people think about God and deepen their faith.

Instructions

    • 1

Choose a Thank You card that has a Christian picture or symbol. A picture of Jesus or Mary, a cross, candle, dove or lamb would be appropriate. If you are using note paper, choose a quote from the Bible or Christian verse about gratitude, charity or friendship and write it above your personal note.

    • 2

Write your note. Make reference to the gift or favor received and express your gratitude for the person's kindness. If appropriate, include your reflections about seeing God's goodness through him or being grateful to God for having such a friend. Assure the person of your prayers.

    • 3

Include a token of gratitude. A small cross or crucifix, medal, holy card, or prayer card can be sent to any Christian. If you know the recipient well, send something that will be meaningful to him.
