How to Divide a Room for a Cheap and Elegant Wedding
The easiest way to make a divider is with fabric. Fabric can be ordered in any length and width so it can be customized to suit your needs. Also, fabric can be ordered in a variety of different colors and prints. Fabrics can also be painted and decorated in different ways. There are iron-on decals that can be ironed directly onto the fabric to create a divider that goes with your theme. If you are good at painting or know someone who is, paint a scene onto the fabric.

1
Measure the height and length of the room where you are doing the divider. Curtain rods come in sizes up to 156 inches, or 13 feet. Measure the length of the room and then see how many curtain rods you will need.

2
Purchase the number of curtain rods you need. You will also need to order the fabric in the length and height you need. Order it in the length of the curtain rod though. You will mount the rods close together so no gaps will be seen, but you will need to put the fabric on each rod individually.

Sew the top of the fabric so it will slide onto the curtain rods. Take the fabric and fold it over and then sew. Sewing machine is the fastest for this, but it can be done by hand with a needle and thread. When folding over, measure along the way and pin it. This ensures that the fold is straight.

Iron on decals if you choose to. Fabric stores sell a variety of iron-on decals. For instance, if you are having a beach wedding, get seashell decals for the fabric curtains. Or if you are painting the fabric, purchase fabric paint and do your artwork. It's helpful to lay the fabric flat on a large kitchen table to do the decal and paint work. Let the paint dry before proceeding.

5
Slide the fabric onto the curtain rods. You can do this either before going to the reception hall or when you get there. This depends on the size and if you have a large enough vehicle to transport the curtains to the reception.

6
Mount the curtain rod holders to the wall. At this point you can put the curtains onto the curtain rods if you already haven't done so. Then put the curtain rods onto the holders. Remember to put the painted or decal side facing the way you want it to.
