How to Lace Up Timberland Roll Tops

Save

"Roll-Tops" are a specific type of boot designed and released by a company called Timberland. Like regular tennis shoes, these boots are fastened together using regular laces. When you first purchase your boots, the laces will come in the package separate from the actual footwear. These laces must be inserted into the boot the proper way in order to rest comfortably on your feet.

  • Examine the front of your Timberland roll-top boot. On either side of the tongue on the front of the boot will be a series of holes. One row of holes goes up on the left side of the tongue, and one row of holes goes up on the right side of the tongue. These holes are where the laces go.

  • Insert the plastic protector on the end of your lace through the bottom hole on the front of your Timberland roll-top boot. Insert the lace from the top of the hole going downward. It doesn't matter if you use the hole on the left side or the right side, just as long as it's the hole on the bottom.

  • Pull the plastic protector on the end of your lace diagonally across the tongue of your shoe and insert it through the bottom hole on the opposite side. If you inserted the plastic protector through the hole on the left side to begin with, pull it over and insert it through the hole on the right.

  • Pull the plastic protector on the end of your lace diagonally across the tongue of your Timberland boot and insert it through the next highest hole. Repeat this process, always alternating between the holes on the left side of the boot and the holes on the right side. When all the holes have been used, your boots are properly laced. Repeat this process for the second roll top boot in your pair.
