Ham & Pea Salad
The colorfully nutritious ham and pea salad is an excellent dish to bring along to a summertime picnic, serve as a tasty side dish for your next lunch or dinner, or eat as a meal in itself. Even children normally disgusted at the sight of peas will enjoy the creamy, tangy salad. It is quick and easy to prepare with minimal ingredients and can be made and refrigerated ahead of time. Things You'll Need
- 1 package (16 ounces) frozen peas, thawed
- 1/2 lb. cooked ham
- 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
- 1 cup red onion
- 1/3 to 1/2 cup ranch dressing
- salt and pepper to taste

Julienne the cooked ham and finely chop the red onion. To julienne the ham, cut it into long, thin strips.

Place peas, ham, cheese and onion in a large mixing bowl.

Stir all of the ingredients together and add your desired amount of ranch dressing.

Toss and stir the salad's ingredients thoroughly to evenly distribute the dressing.

Season with salt and pepper to taste.

Cover and refrigerate the salad for 2 to 3 hours before serving.

Tips & Warnings
You may add even more veggies to the salad, including broccoli and cauliflower. Substituting a salad dressing other than ranch, such as creamy garlic, blue cheese, Caesar or honey mustard will also change the salad's flavor.
