How Can I Use Adobe Reader?

Adobe Reader allows users to open PDF files. PDF files cannot be edited in anyway with Adobe Reader. Adobe Reader is a free program available on Adobe's official website. Downloading Adobe Reader may take a few minutes since it is more than a couple of megabytes in size.

      Download the Adobe Reader installation file (see Resources).

      Open the installation file and install it to your computer.

      Click "Start" and move to "All Programs." Click on "Adobe Reader."

      Click "File," "Open." Select the PDF file located on your computer and click "Open." The file opens.

      Move down the PDF file by pressing the down arrow. Move up the PDF file by pressing the up arrow.

      Zoom in or out of a PDF document to easily read information. Click the "+" button to zoom in and the "-" button to zoom out. Both buttons are located at the top of the screen.

      Visit a certain page. Highlight the number in the tan box at the top of the screen. Type in the page number that you want to visit and press "Enter" to visit that page.

      Search through files for phrases or words. Click the Find box located at the top of the screen. This is the search box. Type in the word or phrase that you want to search for and press "Enter." If that phrase or word is found, Reader highlights it. Press the right arrow button to the right of the search box to go to the next instance of this word or phrase.

      Approve a PDF file by digitally signing it in Adobe Reader. Click "Document," "Sign," "Sign Document." Assign an area where you want to digitally sign the document. Create a digital ID and select it for use in the assigned area. Click "Sign" to save your signature.

      Print a PDF file. Click the printer icon located underneath "File" to print the document. To print, you need to have a printer installed to your computer.
