How to Access AT&T High-Speed Internet
The AT&T DSL service provides a high-speed Internet connection using a modem that can be connected directly to your computer via an Ethernet connection or wirelessly with a two-in-one wireless router and modem from AT&T. As of 2011, as a member of AT&T's high-speed Internet service, you also have access to the service's Wi-Fi hotspots, Internet connections around the city that provides wireless connections for free.

Via Ethernet Connection

Power on your computer, and insert the AT&T installation CD into your computer's disc drive. Click "Next" and "Install" to install the necessary drivers for your DSL equipment.

Insert the Ethernet cable into the Ethernet port located on the back of your desktop or on the side of your laptop computer.

Plug the opposite end of the Ethernet cable into the Ethernet port on the back of the AT&T DSL modem.

Click the browser icon on your taskbar or double-click the browser's icon on the computer's desktop to launch your Web browser.
Wi-Fi Access

Right-click the signal bar icon found in the bottom right corner of your PC, and click the name of the AT&T wireless network listed in the active connections menu.

Click "Connect" and enter the network's password into the password field. The password for the wireless network is typically found on the side of the modem or router and consists of 10 digits.

Press "Enter" to log in to the network. The signal bar is animated when connecting and shows a full signal once it has successfully connected your computer to the wireless network.
Wi-Fi Hotspot

Right-click the network icon in the bottom right corner on the task bar, and click "attwifi" in the list of available networks.

Click "Connect" and double-click the program icon for your Web browser to launch the browser.

Enter your AT&T account email address and password once prompted for your login information, and press "Enter."
