How to Reinstall the Windows Backup Utility
All versions of the Microsoft Windows XP operating system can backup and restore sets of files by running the Backup Utility, a software application developed by Microsoft. Some versions of XP -- e.g., Professional -- have the Backup Utility installed by default, while others -- e.g., Home -- require you to install it from the Windows CD. You can install or reinstall the Backup Utility on Windows XP.
