The CX3810 is a multi-function printer from Epson, a Japanese-based company. It is a desktop model designed primarily for home use. The printer may be used to copy, print, and scan color and black & white documents and photographs. Scanning on the CX3810 must be done on the glass, as there is no automatic document feeder. While the scanner may be used in connection with TWAIN-based programs, the proprietary Epson Scan is the preferred program. You can scan documents from your Epson CX3810 by following a few steps.

Instructions

    • 1

Download and install the "Epson Scan" program to your computer. Epson Scan may be downloaded for free from the Epson website.

    • 2

Open the lid of the printer and place the document that you want to scan face down on to the glass. The document should be in the upper left corner and positioned just inside the top and left edges. Gently close the lid.

    • 3

Launch the "Epson Scan" program. Select "Full Auto Mode" from the "Mode" drop down menu. Click the "Scan" button. This action will open a separate "File Save Settings" window.

    • 4

Use the "Browse" menu to select a folder in which to save the scanned document. Type a name for the scanned document into the "Prefix" field. Select a file type for the scan (e.g. JPEG, BMP, etc.) from the "Type" drop-down menu. Click the "OK" button. This action will complete the process of scanning a document from an Epson CX3810.
