How to Get Collection Agencies to Stop Calling
Collection agencies are professional debt collectors that work in conjunction with other companies to remedy issues of balances due. A representative employed by a collection agency often works on commission and increases the size of his paycheck based on the amount of money he can recuperate for any client company. Collection agencies are relentless in pursuit of outstanding financial liabilities including unpaid bills and outstanding credit. Getting collection agencies to stop calling can mean the difference between a calm and stressful home.

1
Compose a letter to the debt collection agency. Instruct the agency, in accordance with the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act, that you demand that all calls regarding outstanding debts immediately cease and desist. Sign and date the letter. Send the letter to the agency and keep a copy for yourself.
-
2
Report any violations of the law to the collection agency itself and/or the Federal Trade Commission. Log any and all violations of the law --- including debt collector messages with information regarding your specific case or threats made by the agency to remove you from your place of employment or engage in violent activity. Report all violations with specific dates, times, names and a record of events.
